The 2020 model year is just around the corner, and two of our SUVs have big changes. See what’s coming to the 2020 GMC Terrain and Acadia at Diamond Buick GMC

2020 GMC Acadia

The Acadia is the first big SUV update of the year. The 2020 edition sees several major changes. Newly-redesigned front and rear appearance refreshes the somewhat-aged exterior with a hint of pickup truck taste, showing similarities to the Sierra. LED headlights will now be included as standard features, as well.

To go along with the Acadia’s new aggressive appearance, GMC has added a new AT4 trim tier. This is in continuation of GMC’s move to add AT4 off-road-able trims to all their vehicles.

You won’t have to go AT4 to get more power, though. A new 2.0-liter turbocharged I4-equipped Acadia arrives this year. With 230 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, this new engine will fit the middle ground between the base-level 2.5-liter I4 and the big and brawny 3.6-liter V6. To handle this new strength, the Acadia will feature a new standard nine-speed automatic transmission.

Last but not least, the Acadia will also bring new tech tricks to play. The newest version of GMC’s infotainment system is rolling out this year, and the Acadia will be one of the first to see the upgrade.

2020 GMC Terrain

2020 GMC Terrain

2020 GMC Terrain

The small-but-mighty Terrain is about to get a big boost in the coming model year. Safety is an even bigger priority for GMC this year, and the Terrain is a great example of this. All 2020 Terrains will receive the GMC Pro Safety suite, packed full of protective driving aids. Forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist,  automatic high beams and a following-distance indicator will all now be present.

Even more safety features can be added with packages that include adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors and a haptic-feedback drivers seat.

The Denali trim will see even more upgrades this year. Front parking sensors are added to the above safety measures in this top-tier trim. Adding in the new Premium Package will net drivers several more safety measures as well as a few creature comforts. Adaptive cruise control will make driving easier and safer as you lounge in the new ventilated front seats and heated rear seats. The already smooth-sailing Terrain will ride even more effortlessly thanks to a new suspension system designed to improve drive feel and reduce outside noise.

2020 GMC Yukon

Not everyone is a winner this year, though. For Yukon fans, there isn’t anything to report. GMC has yet to give any details on what the 2020 Yukon will bring. With rumors rising that the Yukon’s days are at an end, the future is dim for this SUV.
